Our school is located in Cornerstone Church and operates as a separate entity. We appreciate Cornerstone’s kindness in allowing us to use their facility until we are able to establish our own.
Chapel at NCHS has a new look this year. Travis Curtman Worship Leader from First Baptist Church is Kirksville is teaching Music to the students the first half of the hour then pastors from the area are preaching the last half of the hour. We are excited to offer a credit of Music to our students this year! Pastor Donny Powell was our speaker today. He gave a great message on the topic of worrying. He related several scriptures back to the topic and showed the students how to write personal prayers through scripture. Thank you Pastor Donny for taking the time out of your busy schedule to bless us with your message.
NCHS SPOTLIGHT: This year we are going to start our weekly SPOTLIGHT introducing NCHS Board Members. Jason Dennis is the School Board President of NCHS. Jason is originally from the Kansas City area, but moved to Maryville, MO as a teenager where he graduated from high school and then attended NWMSU. Prior to graduating high school, Jason decided to pursue a career in management with Walmart and had a 20 year career with the company. He then transitioned to Hobby Lobby where he worked in management for 10 years. Currently, he is working for Randstad an employment agency and his office is in Kirksville at Kraft Heinz. Jason and his wife Joyce live in the Kirksville area and they are members of the First Assembly of God Church in Kirksville. Jason teaches Sunday School, hosts a small group along with his wife, plays the drums on the worship team and has had the humbling privilege of delivering the Sunday sermon when needed. Jason serves on the Board of the church and has served in service organizations such as Kiwanis, Rotary, and the Lions Club.NCHS is honored to have Jason as the School Board President and we are excited to see how God inspires his ideas and goals for the school.
